BOARD GAME LEAGUE!!!
For years, we’ve hosted tournaments. Competitions in games like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, board game escape rooms and more. And now, we’re partnering with Social Boston Sports to take things to another level. Behold… a board game league!
Form a team of friends or we can partner you with other players. Each week, you send several members from your team to compete in a different genre of games. One week it might be word games, another week nerdy strategy games. You will receive a list of games to be played ahead of time, along with youtube links to rules explanations (every game will be selected because it is a) really fun b) relatively easy to learn and c) a different approach to the genre than the other games played that night). Different players will play different games, so you can each find ones that match your strengths and interests. Your squad will accumulate points throughout the season, and it all culminates with the finals in week 7, where one team is crowned champion!
We are debating whether or not to launch this puppy come September, and so we are running a 4-team test run to iron out the kinks while also gaging interest. And we’re inviting you to participate in that experiment. A league that will normally cost $60-100 per person will cost you… wait for it… zero dollars!
You probably have questions, like what games will be played, which night of the week will the league run, and when does the next season of BoJack Horseman premiere? And we’ll answer most of those soon. For now, we ask that if you’re interested you fill out the form below. Teams will be 5-9 players strong, but if you don’t have that many people looking to play with you, worry not, we can group you with others and find a team for you. We should note that not everyone who submits their name will be able to play, as we are only taking on a few teams for this trial run, but we should also point out that submitting your name does not obligate you to join if selected. So you really have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
