For People Who Think Dating a Player Can Be a Good Thing
Finding someone can be horrifically painful. But board games are always awesome. So what if you combined board games and searching for a partner?
Picture this: You sit down for a night of games. A gaming concierge walks you through several games over the course of the night. You play classics and try out new games you've never heard of, playing each with a different group of people, getting a chance to meet some other fun singles. All while in a great restaurant or brewery. At the end of the night, you give your gaming concierge a list of the folks you met that you'd like to date and a list of those you met that you'd like to just hang out with as friends. If any two people put down the same name as each other in either column, then your gaming concierge will make sure you get each other's e-mail address and you can coordinate a time to hang out.
Best case scenario: You find true love, discover some awesome board games, and make some new friends.
Bad case scenario: You accomplish only one of those three things, which is still pretty great.
Worst case scenario: There will be alcohol.
This event started off as something we were just going to do occasionally as part of our regular roster of board game events, but it was so popular we've started doing it once a month at venues all around the greater Boston area.
The next one we have coming up is at The Friendly Toast in Kendall Square on July 25th. You can get tickets for it here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/boardgame-speed-dating-cambridge-tickets-47397021768
We are doing an event for men looking to date other men on August 22nd, and you can get tickets for that one here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gay-men-boardgame-speed-dating-tickets-47637230238
And we have an event coming for women looking to date other women in September, but are still finalizing the exact date.
Think this sounds fun but can't make any of the dates listed above? Interested in being notified when the all-women event goes live? E-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we'll notify you as soon as the event you're looking for exists.
